Success
For All Program
Reading, Math, Writing, and social skills. Quileute Tribal School uses the Success For All program. Success For All is a comprehensive program for schools based on the following principles:
The Success For All Foundation programs are being used in more than 1,800 schools in over 600 districts in 48 states, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Versions of the model are also used in England, Israel, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. The Success For All Foundation is based out of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Components of the program: The year begins with grades K-6 participating in the Getting Along Together Curriculum. This is a problem solving curriculum designed to help the students think critically, to solve problems non violently, and to work in teams effectively. To prepare children to become productive adults means providing excellent academic instruction, as well as reinforcing the social and problem solving skills that are necessary to build successful societies. FAMILY SUPPORT TEAM is an important part of SFA. Good curriculum and good instruction ensure success for most of the students, but some children fail for reasons that go beyond the classroom. Some students fail because of homelessness, because they do not come to school, because they were sitting in the office, or being sent home due to behavior problems. Family
Support worried about all these problems. The job of the team is make sure
that all resources of the school and community are organized to help so
that no child falls through the cracks. There are four main parts of Family Support that the team uses to ensure that every child can meet success:
Parent
Involvement is a key factor in student success.
Parents can be involved in many different ways that all help with
school success.
