A-K a-Lat Center
The Quileute Tribal School, (QTS), is located in La Push, Washington.
La Push is a small Indian village located on the western border of the
Olympic Peninsula. The school campus is a stone's throw to the Pacific
Ocean, the Quillayute River, and the Olympic National Park.
QTS and the Head Start Program employ about 50 certified and classified
positions. The campus is located in a newly constructed facility that
includes a full-service kitchen, classrooms, auditorium, library and
culture room.
QTS works closely by a cooperative agreement with the public Quillayute
Valley School district in Forks, Wa. QTS is staffed by a
Superintendent/Principal, administrative support staff, teacher and
teacher assistants and facilities personnel. Students are transported from
neighboring communities of Forks, Three Rivers/Prairie and the Hoh Tribe.
The school and the community take pride in
our tribal language, culture and traditions, thus incorporate these skills
in the curriculum.
